The Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4, and the Audi R8 LMX have both earned reputations for being among the top supercars on the market today with their impressive designs. The high performance vehicles easily lend themselves to comparison because they are sold at similar price points and are comparable to one another in terms of size.

You’ll find articles that compare and contrast what’s under the hood and what luxury features each car boasts, but one thing people don’t think about too often is how the headlights on the vehicles stack up to one another. But never fear–we’ve done just that, putting the Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 and the Audi R8 LMX side by side to see which car has the most advanced and stylish headlight design (see https://www.pmlit.com/).

Appearance

The Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 has a truly modern headlamp design that’s not like anything else currently on the road. The Italian automaker designed unique X-shaped daytime running lights to place at the center of the trapezoidal headlamp between the headlights. Always illuminated, the “X” shapes are accompanied by secondary accent lights shaped like the letter “L” and positioned on the inner corners.

The Audi R8 LMX has headlamps that seem to sparkle in the light. The daytime running lights on this vehicle cut across the headlamp assembly in a sharp diagonal and then curve along the outside edges. The pair of shapes gives the headlamp a look of a glowing cat’s eye.

The Winner: The Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4

While both the Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 and the Audi R8 LMX are stylish, the auto lighting on the Italian supercar are far more unique than the lights on the Audi.

Technology

The Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 features LED headlights as standard. The headlights outperform xenon lighting, but they are basically the same as LED headlights used on other high-end vehicles.

The Audi R8 LMX is the first supercar to ever feature laser lighting, with four blue light lasers mounted in each of the vehicle’s headlamp assemblies. This auto lighting breakthrough uses a phosphor converter to transform the blue light into visible white light that offers double the brightness of an LED. The laser lights are attached to a reliable sensor that turns them on whenever the vehicle reaches speeds of 37 miles per hour and above. For safety, the laser lights automatically turn off when opposing traffic approaches and turn back on once the other vehicles pass.

The Winner: The Audi R8 LMX

While the LED headlights on the Lamborghini will help you see at night, they really can’t compare to the laser lighting on the Audi R8 LMX. The Audi is the clear cut winner when it comes to innovation.

The auto lighting is super on both the Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 and the Audi R8 LMX, but which you prefer will depend on whether you find form or function more important in auto lighting design.
